We find Katie:

In early November 2011,  after a very long search (almost daily on Yacht World) Paul has found a 1988 Corbin 39 centre cockpit. It does not take long for us to make the arrangements to drive north to Superior Wisconsin (Barker Island Marina). In the bitter cold we climb the ladder and inside a fairly elaborately built cover. Once inside it is evident that "Katie" is a well built vessel. We instantly feel at home as we tour fore and aft. She has 2 cabins, both with large berths and good storage (this is a must for visiting family and friends).  The galley is roomy and spans from port to starboard. We are delighted to see the quality of workmanship. We learn that Katie had been the dream of a couple from New Brunswick who lovingly completed her interior and then sailed her for many years in the Carribean.

Katie at anchor before she was ours.

She was stored for 2 years on the hard in Superior WI
View from cockpit to pilot house - she has great bones but just needs some love

 Setee/dining table in pilot house

Beautiful woodwork - Gerald certainly had a talent for carpentry

Engine room - the engine had been removed.

Engine room refurbished

New Beta 50 Engine ready to be installed

She arrives in St Thomas!

July 15, 2011 - Much anticipated, Katie arrives from Barker Island WI (Lake Superior)

Thank you, Ray Cameron of Cameron Cranes (long time friend of Paul) Katie is lifted with precision from truck to cradle.
Custom built cradle by Andy Gorman - great job Andy!
Katie is rolled into a building on multiple 3 inch piping (just like in Roman days)... a  very gentle ride. She will remain under this protection at Kanter Yachts  as her deck and hull are stripped and prepped for paint.
